Since 1957, Ciccillo Matarazzo Pavilion, home of the São Paulo Biennial Foundation, has been the scene of one of the largest and most important art exhibitions in the world: The Bienal de São Paulo. Designed by architect Oscar Niemeyer, the building, a true icon of Brazilian modern architecture and cosmopolitan vocation of the city of São Paulo, has been named historical heritage and transferred to the Foundation as a loan by São Paulo City Hall.
